Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Governor Ralph Northam announced today that schools in Virginia will close for the rest of the 2019-20 academic school year. As the Washington, D.C. region navigates the evolving situation to combat the novel coronavirus, slow it down, or flatten the curve, I want to communicate The House, Inc.’s decisions, the work already accomplished, and good work that will continue by the real promise of our founding.
Our daily out-of-school time programs will remain in effect Monday-Friday, 6am-6pm with extended grades K-12 mirroring The House, Inc.'s summer term energizing format with topics that span student interests. All settings will remain in student groups below ten to accommodate instructional staff so as not to exceed ten members and are designed for the recommended, up-to-date social distancing standards. Students will be assigned an Apple iPad Pro as a critical resource for integrating school homework and support.
Student check-in and check-out will be curbside; no parent/guardian may enter the campus. This notice is for planning purposes; actual decision-making will be situationally dependent on on-going developments and will be based on the best available information from official sources at the time.
