Presented by NOVA Veterans Association and GMU Military, Veterans, & Families Initiative
About this Event Many veterans’ health conditions are being exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Reasons for this include difficulty understanding and locating online resources, limited access to or familiarity with technology needed for virtual visits, decreased ability to use public transportation, and diminished primary and specialty healthcare services.
Northern Virginia Veterans and George Mason’s Military, Veterans, & Families Initiative are partnering to bring you this virtual panel that will highlight common problems, provide insight into these issues, and propose solutions to improve veterans’ access to care and services. In the first hour, panelists will highlight veteran needs and challenges, discuss existing solutions, and propose new solutions, and discuss action steps to improve access for veterans during this challenging time. The final half hour will be reserved for Q&A from attendees. This panel will serve as the basis for establishing a clear action plan, with a follow-up meeting later in the year to evaluate successes and failures and continue iterating solutions.
The format of this Webinar will be a one-hour moderated panel discussion, followed by a thirty-minute Q&A session.
The Military, Veterans, & Family Initiative (MVFI) focuses on giving back to those who give their all to our nation, through direct services and education opportunities for service members, veterans, and their families; training of future professionals who will work with service members, veterans, and their families; and research dedicated to improving the lives of service members, veterans, and their families.
