ABOUT PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY CARES ACT COMMUNITY GRANTS

The Prince William County Board of Supervisors allocated $1 million to support COVID-19 relief efforts for Prince William County residents, focusing on those who are underserved. The county partnered with The Human Services Alliance of Greater Prince William to distribute these funds through grants to non-profit organizations who serve county residents. The application period opened July 13, 2020  and closed July 24.

Grants ranging between $50,000 - $150,000 were distributed to 14 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that serve Prince William County residents to support the following measures in response to COVID-19 relief: housing assistance; utility assistance; access to health care appointments and medication; employment assistance; childcare costs and other critical unmet human needs.

In September, The Prince William County Board of Supervisors allocated another $1 million which was allocated to 12 additional qualified proposals submitted in the Round 1 cycle that were unable to be awarded due to limited funds.

In November, an additional $1 million was awarded to this program's existing 26 grantees.

The Alliance was awarded $50,000 of the total $3 million to assist in the administration and management of the grant funds.

All 26 grant partners and the Alliance had until December 30, 2020 to spend the funds and did so.

All funds were spent.
