Please join us at one of our community conversations about the local implementation of the Marcus Alert legislation in the Greater Prince William area. Have you or a loved one been involved with crisis mental health services in the Greater Prince William Area? Are you a mental health advocate who would like to provide input on mental health crisis services? We want your voice heard.
The Marcus-David Peters Act was signed into law in late 2020 and has become known as the Marcus Alert. This act is a comprehensive approach to ensuring that Virginia provides a health-focused and trauma-informed response to behavioral health emergencies. Prince William County staff are hosting open discussions about the current Community Services response, resources for mental health crisis situations, the experiences of residents using our crisis services and what residents want for crisis services in the future. Please join us to have your concerns and experiences heard about mental health crisis services in the Greater Prince William area.
